We have finally received full details about Heico Sportiv’s tuning program for the 2013 Volvo V40 after the interesting previews offered during this summer. The tuning firm provides performance upgrades, sport suspensions, new wheels, nicer interiors and exteriors, new design elements as well as brand new exhaust systems and various engine tweaks.
Heico Sportiv are famous for being the official tuning partners of Volvo Car Overseas Corporation, Volvo Automobile (Schweiz) AG and Volvo Car Germany GmbH. The program begins with a power package – the reported “e.motion” ECU which works in tandem with the original control unit as a supplementary, independent processor.
Sadly, it is at the moment only available for the D2, D3 and D4 diesel engines. For example, for the 5-cylinder D4, the ECU kit ups the output from 174 HP and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque to 192 HP and 480 Nm (354 lb-ft) of torque. Thus, the acceleration from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) is done 1 second faster, while the model’s top speed has been added an additional 10 km/h (6 mph).
As for the gasoline powered engine versions, the turbo direct injection T3, T4 and T5, new upgrades are currently under development, soon to be available on market, as the brand states and promises.
The styling packages start off with a front apron, four chrome plated tailpipes were added to the sports exhaust system and a rear skirt has also come into picture, housing a diffuser. A brand new set of alloy rims finish the external aspect, available in three different styles, in shades of Black, Graphite Matt and Bright Silver, and in two sizes, 18 inches and 19 inches in diameter.
The same tuning program also includes a set of sports springs which lower the car by up to 30 millimeters, plus additional interior trims and accessories, like the new sports steering wheel.
