We’ve known Hennessey Performance for quite some time now, but they still manage to impress us with every new project they reveal. They’ve recently launched the CTS-V Coupé and the Venom GT, yet their thirst for power hasn’t yet been quenched.

They’re now coming back with a bang with the absolutely stunning VR1200 Twin Turbo Coupé, a monster powered by a 7.0-liter V8 delivering a whopping 1,226 HP (914 kW) at 6,400 RPM and 1,501 Nm (1,109 lb-ft) of torque at 4,000 RPM, based on the same Cadillac CTS-V Coupe.

The massive horse ranch within this car propels it towards 62 mph (100 km/h) from a standstill in just 2.9 seconds, until a top speed of 389 km/h (242 mph). This amazing high performance vehicle does the quarter mile race in 10.2 seconds, at 227 km/h (141 mph) – these numbers actually set it really close to Bugatti’s own beasts.

What remains now is to prove the car’s maximum speed on the Ehra-Leissen high speed circuit belonging to Volkswagen. Sadly, a limited 12 units of the VR1200 will be manufactured, but the package will be available for CTS-V sedans and wagons too.
