The 2012 Essen Motor Show is poised to impress enthusiasts with a load of stunning cars, from tuners and automotive manufacturers worldwide. Lorinser will be taking part to the exhibition with a 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL500 which they’ve modified with a power boost and nice body kit.
They have reportedly reprogrammed the Merc’s ECU therefore increasing the output of the 4.7-liter V8 engine under its bonnet from a stock 435 HP (320 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque to a massive 530 HP (390 kW) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft). The guys are also able to remove the 155 mph (250 km/h) speed limiter mounted on the car as standard, thus allowing the beast to reach a top speed of 174 mph (280 km/h).
The drivetrain has also undergone some extensive modifications, for example Lorinser has changed the stock wheels with a set of brand new 20 inch RSK8 alloys shod it 255/30 R20 tires at the front and 295/25 R20 rear tires. The car’s exterior has also been upgraded with an aerodynamic bodykit that includes a rear decklid spoiler, custom side skirts, different noise than the one the original configuration used to generate, wider rear and front bumpers, sports exhaust system with 4 muffler tips and rear diffuser.
The package also boasts a lowering kit through which the driver can manually adjust the height of the car’s center of gravity, a feature available for the models with Active Body Control (ABC) system included. This change transforms the character of the car into a rather sportier one. The interiors has been beautifully garnished with wood, aluminium and carbon fiber trim touches.
