You can’t really look at an Audi R8 and think ugly car; I never could. I also think this is one of the most iconic cars of the 21st century, as the Quattro was for the 80’s. This is why, if I ever got the chance to own an R8, I’d leave the car as is, from factory, for me and others appreciate the legacy and efforts of Audi. Surely, some peoeple will not agree, like the aftermarket specialists from Famous Parts.
Famous Parts have revealed the new PD GT-850 widebody personalization program for the Audi R8. The tuner’s version of Audi R8 comes with a new widebody kit developed by Prior Design, an aero package including a new front bumper, side skirts, a modified rear apron with an integrated diffuser and a huge rear wing. The customized R8 also features wider wheel arches fitted with vents for improved cooling of the brakes, making this Audi 6 centimeters wider at the front axle and 8 cm wider at the rear one.
Famous Parts made sure that their Audi R8 Widebody sits on a set of 20-inch forged alloy wheels developed by Rotiform, and Continental Sport contact tires. The tuner also installed a Capristo flap sports exhaust system, manufactured from stainless steel, which includes four-fold sound selection and remote control – now that’s something worth checking out. They also revised the air piping system, re-mapped the ECU and applied some software optimization. So, all in all, we’re not talking about a completely new car, but the improvements should make a difference in driving feel; the improvements in design and style are obvious.
I don’t know how much the Famous Parts Audi R8 Widebody costs, since the price has not been disclosed yet, but whatever it is, it’s worth it!
