The new 2015 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 has been introduced, and it’s absolutely marvelous. This high-revving, flat-plane crankshaft, 5.2 liter V8 engined performance-car developes more than 500 hp; all of that power comes from the most powerful naturally aspirated production engine ever produced by the automotive company, designed to handle both challenging and the track.

The special Mustang was inspired by Caroll Shelby’s vision of transforming an every-day car into a dominant road. Ford started off with the improved sixth-generation mustang and worked on offering a special driving experience. On a more technical note, Shelby’s engine evenly spaces all crank pins at 180° intervals to permit a cylinder firing order that alternates between banks and reduces the overlap of exhaust press pulses. As a result, the driver enjoys a torque peak of more than 400lb and extreme flexibility within each gear of the lightweight six-speed manual transmission.

The new Shelby GT350 features an unique bodywork from the windshield forward and it rides two inches lower, compared to the standard model. Part of the package are an aluminum hood that has been lowered for improved aerodynamics, a modified front fascia, front splitter and ducted belly pan – all of which add to the over-all menacing look of the car, as well as improved downforce, contoured aluminum front fenders, a wider track and wheel arches.

Inside the cabin, this model now features recaro sport seats and an over-all minimalist design, sans the usual bling.
