Hypercar McLaren P1 LM
McLaren Special hypercar has only 24 units of the McLaren P1 GTR to worldwide, but since this was a track-oriented hyper machine, some of the lucky customers of this incredible machine also wanted a road-legal version for real life. Moreover, a company called Lanzante has decided to convert the 986-hp beast into a hypercar that could go on public roads as well, dubbed as the McLaren P1 LM.
With only five units of the P1 LM to be delivered, aside from the P1 XP1 LM prototype , this road-legal hypercar is bound to be a true collectible, not to mention a worthy successor of the iconic McLaren F1 LM, that was also a special edition created by Lanzante Motorsport after they won at Le Mans in an F1 GTR.
According to Lanzante, this thing is going to match the P1 GTR’s 1,000 PS (986 hp) output but it’s going to be even more impressive. It will feature an upgraded version of the bi-turbo 3.8-liter V8 engine, with an extensively modified hybrid setup, and it’s going to be 60 kg (132 lbs) lighter, after removing some of the race parts.
The engine bay present the gold-plated heat shielding, Inconel for the catalytic convertor pipes and exhaust headers, and a modified rear wing to boost aerodynamics. The McLaren P1 LM will also come with a redesigned front splitter and dive planes, as well as a fully-exposed carbon fiber roof and other components made out of carbon fiber.
On the inside, the same lightweight material adorns the hypercar’s dashboard, headliner, center console, seat backs, floor mats, and the instrument cowl. Moreover, the leather-wrapped steering wheel will be derived from Lewis Hamilton’s McLaren MP4/23 used back in the 2008 F1 season. Pricing unknow yet.
