The Land Rover Defender is one of the toughest vehicles I’ve ever seen. A vehicle that, after almost half a century of service, is finally being dragged towards retirement. That makes me really sad, I love this ride. However, there is still reason to smile, since there will still be plenty around to break up for parts or salvage, which mean you could take up a home project, kind of like Kahn Design has done with the diesel Land Rover in these pics.
This is one extreme and fast Land Rover, featuring an elongated front section. The Kahn Land Rover Defender 2.4 TDCI 90 Hard Top – Chelsea Wide Track is boasting some cool “Mondial” wheels, which measure 20 inches in diameter and come partly finished in glossy piano black and that completely custom manufactured “X-Lander” grille.
Inside the cabin, Kahn has gone through the usual luxurious treatment while retaining functionality and keeping in line with the Land Rover legacy. The standard seats were, however, replaces by some much sportier ones, which come trimmed in soft, perforated leather which matchest perfectly those refaced instrument dials. Who said you couldn’t climb the mountains in a Land Rover, while also in style?
