Mazda Miata MX-5 by Tommy Reichelderfer

With electric Mustangs being developed, and Harley-Davidson coming up with an electric concept as well, I don’t want to live on this planet any more. But there are few of us who still remember what the car culture is all about, turning contemporary roadsters into mad rat rods. Tommy Reichelderfer fitted a V8 engine onto a  Mazda Miatas (MX-5), and worked his magic around it, resulting in this superb ride.

It seems the guy grew around British roadsters, but he always had a thing for hot rods, rat rods, muscle cars and drifting. And, I’m guessing it shows! The Mazda features less bits than initially intended, with some custom bits and pieces added which provide that combination of American and JDM style theme. The front section has bits from a ’32 Ford along with a 302 V8 engine, while the JDM back feels at home with slightly stanced wheels and pretty long exhaust tips.

The rest of the Mazda bodywork has been sanded, giving it a much more touch look, worthy of Mad Max or Fast nad Furious.. Let’s just hope there will be more similar builds, available for purchase.
