A 4-wheeled monster the McLaren MP4-12C is, but I consider the Spider version as its “gentle brother”. Being a convertible, it is automatically better for relaxing journeys with the wind flowing behind your ears. Well, it still is a massively fast supercar and the folk at Wheelsandmore share my opinion.
These guys are good in their business so I suppose this had come out good enough. And it did indeed, having received two stages of additional horses suitable for both the pre-2013 600 HP version as well as for the brand new 626 HP model. The 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 engine can be fitted with a Stage One kit, which includes an ECU remapping. This one increases the car’s output to 650 HP and 625 Nm (461 lb-ft) of torque.
The Stage Two is a bit broader, raising the muscle to 700 HP and 650 Nm (480 lb-ft) of torque thanks to a valve-controlled exhaust system with brand new catalytic converters and the ECU remap. Wheelsandmore can also equip the Spider with the in-house 6Sporz2 forged wheels with all sorts of finishing options. They come in rather cool sizes, of 12 x 21 inches at the rear and 9.5 x 20 inches at the front, wrapped in Continental tires sized 325/25/21 respectively 255/30/20.
Putting aside the performance- and ride-related modifications, the folk at Wheelsandmore are also ready to garnish the car with a nice, Matte Navy Dark Gray wrap. And the gorgeous longitudinal stripe is the coolest finishing touch ever.
