We’ve received interesting news from Renown Auto Style regarding a brand new wide body kit for the R230 Mercedes-Benz SL.

This staggering body kit gets the width of the Merc dangerously close to the one of the Lamborghini Murcielago. In addition, the SL can be fitted with a set of 3-piece concave wheels measuring as much as 21 inches in diameter. The car you’ll see in the adjacent images wears R10S-C 20×10.5 front and 21×13.5 rear wheels.

Apart from the original Mercedes-Benz LED daytime running lights, all the pieces that make out this remarkable Renown kit are manufactured in the United States. The body panels are made of woven cloth FRP with epoxy resin and, in order to achieve the best possible strength/weight ratio, the concoction got vacuum-bagged.

To be honest, this car isn’t, in terms of looks, too far away from the Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG Black Series, which is quite a stunning piece on its own. Performance-wise, the folk at Raging Bull Performance have further fitted this Merc with upgraded internal parts and various ECU tweaks, so that the engine of the SL is now able to deliver 700 HP (515 kW).
