Pogea Racing has prepared a massive upgrade program for the tiny yet punchy Abarth 500. It wouldn’t have been my first choice, to work with such a tiny and underrated car, but let;s focus on the upgrades, shall we? One of the craziest tuning jobs for the Fiat 500, the Pogea Racing program comes with a massive 71 kg (156 lbs) weight loss. From what, I wonder?

An extensive use of carbon fiber, and the removal of the rear seats allow the 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine to make this tiny thing ride pretty fast. Oh, and let’s not forget that it now develops 331 HP (244 kW) at 5,750 rpm and 411 Nm (303 lb-ft) of torque, which means the Abarth 500 by Pogea Racing will need just 5.1 seconds for the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) run and will reach a top speed of 163 mph (262 km/h). All that was possible by adding a larger intercooler, an additional fuel pump, custom injectors & forged pistons, along with an upgraded turbocharger and bigger intake & exhaust ducts to the mix.

The tuner has also installed KW sport shock absorbers, six-piston front aluminum calipers with 313 mm perforated discs while at the back there are Esseesse-derived perforated discs. The heavily modified Abarth 500 sits on large 17-inch OZ Racing SUPERTURISMO GT alloys shod in 205/40/17 TOYO Proxes T1-R tires. The bodywork doesn’t look half bad, either!

The Abarth now features a new front spoiler and splitter, vented hood, rear diffuser and a redesigned rear bumper. All these upgrades are available for €12,500, while a complete vehicle will set you €43,500. Totally worth it!
