The small Ariel Atom is already one of the world’s fastest cars, with its 2.4L Honda l4 engine that could take it from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds !! But a company called DDMWorks thought they could make it even better and they’ve released the Ariel Atom 700, featuring a jaw dropping performance upgrade.
This Atom is powered by a 2.0L Ecotec l4 engine that’s able to produce, as the project name states, 700 horsepower !!! The car weights just 1,450 pounds or 657 kg which means this Atom has a breathtaking power to weight ratio of 2.07 pounds/hp, which is even better than a Veyron or the Aventador.
This massive power boost was achieved by installing a turbocharger and a supercharger as well on this engine. If 700 HP is too much for you, the guys at DDMWorks also prepared two lower power levels: 450 HP and 575 HP as well. To handle all this power, the car also received other technical improvements, like a new exhaust and more..
Unfortunately we don’t know any performance figures or the pricing of the Ariel Atom 700 but, since the standard Atom starts at $52,480, you can imagine this one is quite a lot more expensive.
